Food where the locals find it
If you enjoy National Public Radio’s “Road Food” or any of the
Food Network’s on-the-road and culinary chronicle shows, you’re
a Tour da Food customer – eager to experience the dishes that
give a place its personality, curious about the traditions and
the people behind the plate, seeking an opportunity to soak up a
sense of place.
Founded by restaurant publicist, freelance food and
travel writer, cookbook author, and certified Pastry Cook Bonnie
Friedman, Tour da Food offers intimate excursions to Maui’s
off-the-tourist-path culinary treasures – restaurants,
snack
shacks, markets and manufacturers. Through Bonnie, the local
restaurateurs and food manufacturers you’ll meet, and the unique
places that characterize the Islands’ cuisines, you’ll come away
with a deeper understanding of Maui’s multicultural community
and its history. And, of course, there’ll be plenty of FOOD –
one full meal, individual Island specialties, snacks and
sweets.
Morning-long tours are for a minimum of two and maximum
of four guests. Private customized tours for one or two are
available on request.
